My History.
Born in 1969 in the fantastic little town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch where I lived until my early twenties.
I have worked at many places before finally deciding that I should follow my dream of writing for a living. Although my main area is fiction and sci-fi I am also trying to turn my hand to other genres particularly a murder mystery with a massive twist. I really enjoy books that challenge the reader and make them think… or even confuse! That is how I write and although I will openly admit I am not the next Tolkien I enjoy it and the people who have read my efforts seem to as well, so there is no harm done.
I write in my lovely 'Man Cave' which I built for that purpose only. It is full of all the things I like and the wife won't let me have in the house! Coca Cola bottles are a particular favourite.
I currently live in the beautiful city of Leicester, England (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) with my family and slightly deranged cat.
My musical interests are so varied that it reads like a who done it? but here goes... Thomas Dolby, Thomas Dolby (so good he two mentions), Def Leppard, Athlete, ELO, Bocelli & Slipknot amongst many others. The music I listen to at any particular time pushes my writing in different directions. Thomas for inspiration, ELO for writing and editing, and Def Leppard when its an action sequence!
Absolutely no athletic ability to speak of has resulted in me trying to use my head more.
MY STATEMENT…
‘I always wondered when I was a child why we never went back to the Moon. I always wondered why there was so much hate during the Cold War. I didn’t understand politics and fighting and in a way I wish I had never figured it out. I have never understood how we can build million dollar weapons and leave children to starve. I never understood hatred in the name of religion and I still don’t. I have always marvelled at the incredible things mankind can achieve yet I despair at our incredible desire to destroy. My only regret for mankind is imagining what we could have achieved by now if we had spent as much effort in flying to the Moon as we have on blowing each other up.’
